Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
If you enter a name or date of birth in a search widget, the information is sent to the outside company operating that tool. That company processes the query and returns results under its own terms. We do not keep a copy of the search terms on this website.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message so we can respond and maintain the conversation. We do not share correspondence outside the organization unless a legal requirement calls for it.
Data We Gather Automatically
A page request can create routine technical information about the visit, including:
- The time and date of a page request
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Pages opened and approximate visit duration
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- The IP address used for the connection
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved by a browser. This site may use them and analytics services to understand general traffic, such as which pages are visited most often. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though a few site features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Monitoring site performance and repairing errors
- Passing a search query to the selected outside provider
- Measuring broad patterns in page use
- Maintaining reliable site operation
- Displaying advertising that may relate to visitor interests
No Warrant Data on File
Potter County Warrant Records does not host or sell a database of warrants or individual warrant files. It offers general directions to the Sheriff's Office, the issuing courts, Amarillo Municipal Court and the JP precincts that keep official records. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
External companies run the search widgets. Any details typed into a widget are handled according to that provider's privacy policy, including its retention and sharing rules. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's terms before you submit information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Sheriff or court websites, legal-aid resources and search companies. Once you leave our site, the other operator's privacy terms apply. Check those terms before giving the destination any personal details.
Some advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Depending on how you use the site, information may be handled by:
- Government authorities responding to a valid legal demand
- Advertising companies serving placements on site pages
- Analytics providers that report aggregate traffic patterns
- Search providers processing a query you submit to their widget
How We Protect Your Data
We use ordinary safeguards for information handled by the site. Internet systems cannot be guaranteed secure, however, and no promise can be made that a data incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and is not designed to collect information from children under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us personal information, contact us and request its removal.
Your Data Rights
Texas law treats public records held by government offices separately from information handled by a private website. Potter County warrant files remain with the relevant public office. For information we do receive, you may:
- Ask us whether we hold information you supplied directly
- Request a correction to information in a message or contact record
- Ask that a message or other direct submission be deleted where we can do so
- Ask how an outside search provider handles a query you submitted to its tool
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as site practices change. A new version will replace the one currently posted, with its effective date shown below.
